Exporting your DNS zone gives you a copy of all records, useful when moving DNS to another provider such as Cloudflare.
Option 1: From a backup
- In cPanel, open Backup in the Files section.
- Under Download a Full Account Backup, generate a backup and download it when ready.
- Extract the archive and open the dnszones folder. Each domain has a .db file, which is a standard zone file most DNS providers can import.
Option 2: JetBackup
- Open JetBackup 5 and go to DNS Zones (or Restore & Download).
- Pick a backup date and select Download for the domain's zone.
Option 3: Copy by hand
For small zones, open Zone Editor › Manage and note each record. Make sure you include MX and TXT records, as missing ones are the most common cause of email problems after a DNS move.
