You can install WordPress in a few clicks from cPanel.
Option 1: WordPress Toolkit (recommended)
- In cPanel, open WordPress Management (WP Toolkit) in the Domains section.
- Click Install.
- Choose the domain and, if needed, a sub-folder. Leave the folder blank to install at the root of the domain.
- Enter a site title, admin username, a strong password and your email address.
- Click Install.
WP Toolkit also lets you update, clone, back up and secure your WordPress sites from one screen.
Option 2: Softaculous
If shown in your cPanel, open Softaculous Apps Installer in the Software section, choose WordPress and click Install Now. The details requested are the same.
After installing
- Log in at yourdomain.co.uk/wp-admin
- Make sure the site loads over HTTPS (see How to force HTTPS on your WordPress site)
- Delete unused default themes and plugins
- Turn on caching (see How to enable AccelerateWP or How to clear LiteSpeed Cache)
